Mini-quests are tasks given by NPCs for players to complete. Mini-quests are started by speaking to friendly NPCs. To keep track of your quests, it is recommended that you use the Red Book, as it records the details of all your currently active mini-quests. It is given to the player by the Grey Wanderer but can also be crafted (see recipe to the left), so don't worry about losing it. 1

When Tuor grew old, he and Idril departed in his ship for the West. It is believed by the Elves and the Dúnedain that Idril and Tuor safely arrived in Valinor , bypassing the Ban of the Valar . Moreover, it was thought that Tuor was reckoned in the kindred of the Elves, and that both Idril and her husband thereafter dwelt in Valinor.
When Eärendil was seven years old, he escaped the sacking of Gondolin with his parents. He was almost killed by his mother's treacherous cousin Maeglin, who had betrayed Gondolin, but was saved when his father slew Maeglin.
Christopher Tolkien retitled the story before including it in Unfinished Tales, because it ends at the point of Tuor's arrival in Gondolin, and does not depict the actual Fall. There is also an unfinished poem, The Lay of the Fall of Gondolin , of which a few verses are quoted in The Lays of Beleriand .

Turgon recognized Tuor’s helm and knew that Ulmo had sent him. Tuor came before Turgon and warned him that the Curse of Mandos was now drawing near, and urged him to depart from Gondolin and go down Sirion to the Sea. Tuor was raised by Sindarin elves for the first 16 years of his life, and was visited by Ulmo, one of the Valar. Ulmo gave him a message that had to be delivered to Turgon in Gondolin, and Tuor travelled to the hidden city. Tuor Eladar (born F.A. 472) was a hero of the Edain in the last years of the First Age, and the father of Eärendil. In spite of being a Man, he was chosen by the Vala Ulmo to be the last hope of the Noldor in the face of annihilation by the forces of Morgoth.

Tuor, son of Huor, was then led to Gondolin as foretold by Ulmo to warn Turgon that the time of peril was at hand. However, Turgon paid little attention to his warning and trusted rather in the secrecy of his city. But even though his words were not heeded, Tuor then married Idril, the daughter of Turgon, and gained great favour with the King. Tuor meets Gelmir and Arminas and they show him the path through the Gate of the Noldor.
